Structural Engineering

The two-storey configuration is engineered for permanent residential occupation with load calculations covering self-weight, imposed loads, wind, and snow conditions. Glulam beams and columns provide predictable, certified structural performance. The engineered timber approach enables wider spans, larger window openings, and open-plan layouts not achievable with conventional log cabin construction.

Glulam Technology

Glue-laminated timber is produced by bonding multiple layers of kiln-dried Nordic spruce under controlled pressure. This creates structural members with higher strength-to-weight ratios, greater dimensional stability, and reduced susceptibility to twisting, warping, and checking compared to solid timber. Each component is manufactured to EN 14080 standards using formaldehyde-free adhesive systems.

Layout & Configuration

The two-storey design provides substantial living area distributed across ground and first floors. Typical configurations include living areas, kitchen, and utility on ground floor with bedrooms and bathrooms above. Glulam construction enables large open-plan ground floor areas with minimal internal structural supports.

Customisation Options

Extensive customisation available: floor plan layout, room count, window and door positions, balcony and terrace, roof style, external cladding, insulation specification, and glazing type. Structural modifications including cantilevers and mezzanine levels can be engineered. Every Glulife project is effectively bespoke. Lead time 10–16 weeks.

Manufacturing & Delivery

Produced at UAB Eurodita in Kaunas, Lithuania, utilising dedicated glulam production lines with SCM (Italy) and Auer (Austria) CNC processing equipment. Annual capacity 1,800–2,000 bespoke and glulam houses. Delivered as a comprehensive building kit via dedicated full-load freight. Lead time 10–16 weeks.
