Design Overview
The Glulam Apex Holiday Cabin 4.9×5.9 is a bespoke timber structure delivering 28.5m² of clear interior space within a 5.2m x 6.2m footprint. Internal dimensions of 4.9m x 5.9m are enclosed by 70mm glue-laminated timber walls rising to a sidewall height of 2340mm, with the apex (gable) roof reaching 2860mm at the ridge. Fenestration comprises 3 windows and 3 doors arranged per the specified floor plan, all beneath a 11.6° apex roof covering 40.7m². As with every Eurodita log cabin, all dimensions, materials, and configurations are manufactured to the dealer’s exact brief. No element is taken from stock; each piece is cut to order.
Why This Configuration
The apex (gable) roof provides balanced aesthetics with symmetrical slopes meeting at a central ridge, creating a classic silhouette that integrates well with residential surroundings. At just 11.6°, the low-profile roof minimises visual impact, an advantage where planning height limits apply.
The wall specification shown here is project data for dealer review. Final use, insulation package, glazing, ventilation, installation quality, and any building-control or local authority route must be confirmed for the target market and project.
The 3 windows are positioned to balance natural light with wall space for furnishing flexibility. The double-door entry creates a generous opening that accommodates furniture delivery, wheelchair access, and commercial foot traffic, adding versatility to the building’s potential use.
The near-square 5.2m x 6.2m floor plate maximises usable area relative to external wall length, an efficient geometry that minimises material use and thermal loss.
Materials & Construction
The 70mm glue-laminated (glulam) wall profiles used in this design are engineered for dimensional stability. Unlike conventional sawn timber, glulam undergoes kiln-drying and cross-grain lamination that virtually eliminates warping, twisting, and settlement over time. Each profile is precision-milled to tight tolerances, ensuring clean airtight joints across every wall section. This engineered approach delivers consistent thermal performance and a refined, contemporary finish that solid log cannot match.
The floor system comprises 40x60mm pressure-treated bearers supporting 28mm tongue-and-groove floorboards. This combination provides a rigid, level deck capable of handling furnishing loads, underfloor insulation, and finished flooring overlays as required by the end user.
The roof structure is carried on 7 purlins of 70x130mm section, covered with 19mm boards to form a total roof area of 40.7m². The deck is supplied ready for the dealer’s choice of final covering – EPDM rubber membrane, bitumen shingles, or standing-seam metal are popular options that Eurodita can advise on.
The wall profile, insulation package, glazing, roof, floor, ventilation, and installation route should be reviewed together before any all-season or residential-style use is marketed. Eurodita provides project data for dealer review rather than a blanket use approval.
Eurodita mills all profiles in-house from slow-grown northern European spruce, kiln-dried to controlled moisture levels before precision machining. This integrated supply chain ensures traceability and consistent quality.
Customisation Options
Every parameter of this 28.5m² design is open to modification. Eurodita operates as a pure bespoke manufacturer: the project shown here is a starting point, not a fixed product.
External dimensions can be adjusted freely – the current 5.2m x 6.2m footprint is not a constraint. Wall specification is confirmed per project and product family. Eurodita provides the technical data needed for dealer review, including wall build-up, insulation, glazing, and approval-route considerations where relevant.
The apex (gable) roof shown here can be changed to any supported type (apex, pent, or hip), and the pitch adjusted to suit local planning or aesthetic preferences. Sidewall height, ridge height, and overhang dimensions are all variable.
Window and door positions, sizes, types, and quantities are fully configurable. Glazing can be specified as standard double-glazed (45mm) or living-type (68mm) profiles, with optional painted finishes and crossbar detailing.
Internal partitions, electrical pre-wiring channels, additional insulation packages, and bespoke floor plans are available on request. Eurodita’s engineering team works directly with dealer partners to resolve any design requirement.
Private-Label & Private-Label Service
Eurodita offers full private-label manufacturing for this log cabin design. Every document, delivery note, and product label carries your brand – not ours. Your clients see your company name from quotation through to installation. This private-label service is available at no additional cost on all bespoke orders, making Eurodita the invisible manufacturer behind your timber building brand.
Ideal Use Cases
With 28.5m² of interior space, this design supports a broad range of applications: workspace, studio, leisure room, hospitality-support, or annexe-style layouts where local planning and building-control requirements allow. The generous floor plate permits flexible partitioning to suit the end user’s needs, and dealers should position buildings of this scale around the confirmed local approval route, operator requirements, and agreed specification. The 5.2m x 6.2m footprint fits comfortably within most residential plots while providing enough room for a kitchenette, bathroom pod, or separate sleeping area.
The wide double-door entry further extends commercial potential, accommodating retail displays, workshop equipment, and accessible access in line with disability regulations.
The wall section can be considered alongside insulation, services, glazing, roof and floor build-up for project-specific comfort targets. Final all-season or residential-style positioning depends on the confirmed specification and local authority review route.
Delivery & Production
Eurodita manufactures every project in its own production facility in Lithuania, with typical lead times of 4-8 weeks from confirmed order. The building is delivered flat-packed on a standard road-transport pallet, with every component numbered and accompanied by detailed assembly drawings. Wall sections, roof elements, floor panels, windows, doors, and all hardware are included. Eurodita ships across Europe and the UK with established logistics partners, and can arrange delivery to site or dealer depot as required.
