There are many things to consider before you buy your camping pod. These are the steps we will take you through.

  1. Types of pods

Depending on the purpose you have planned for your pod, there’s a variety to choose from. You can choose from small pods to be used for a brief stay or a home-like alternative. We can help you choose the right option.

The camping pods can be used in any season, from summer to winter. They are insulated so you won’t get too cold in winter and have windows on either side to allow for good air circulation. The camping pod is a great option for camp owners. These pods are comfortable and can accommodate a double bed. This is why it was named. This is a great choice for campsites with separate facilities. Depending on the size of the bus, it can accommodate one to two double beds. There are two windows either side. Every camping bus has a side door. Campervans aren’t insulated so they are best for summer. You can choose from a small size (2.4x4m) or a large size (2.4×5.9m) for a family of 4. To protect from the elements, all buses have premium bitumen roofing.

You can use a camping bus as a summer home office on your private property. They can be used as a playroom for children, a garden shed, or even a guest house if they are designed properly. They can be used by campsite owners to offer a more affordable option for campers. It’s a wonderful summertime choice for a nature-filled stay.

2. 2.

You can bring and build a camping van or a camp pod anywhere. These pods are compact in size and easy to assemble.

Legalities and building permits are important to be aware of. You can build additional buildings if you own your land, if you want to use the pod for guest houses or personal purposes. There are some general guidelines that you should follow, depending on where you live and what country you’re from.

  • Buses and camping pods must be one-storey with a maximum height of 4m.
  • They cannot occupy more than half your land.
  • Buses and camping pods should not have verandas, balconies or any other elevated platforms.
  • They cannot be used as a residence.

Although pods can be built as a temporary dwelling or guest house, they are legal. If you’re unsure, consult your municipal development department or your real estate agent.

You, as a campsite owner have the right to build buildings within certain limits. For more information, consult your municipal land lease agreement.

3. Maintenance

Camping pods and buses are similar to other timber homes in that they don’t require much maintenance. A coat of protective varnish or paint should suffice to protect the wood. Camping pods have most of their surfaces protected by insulation and bitumen shingles.

The base of the bus or pod is something to be aware of. This is the most vulnerable area, as it can absorb a lot water and cause rot. It is best to lay a gravel base, cement plates, or a platform that raises the structure from the ground. For the best advice regarding your location, consult your contractor who is a camping pod contractor.

4. 4.

Our camping pods are easily connected to electricity and water. The pods can be equipped with a kitchenette and a bathroom. It’s possible to connect all your pods to your campsite if it has a connection to the grid or piping.

Camping buses are intended to be used as temporary structures and do not have any amenities. If you are considering a camping bus as your home office you can still bring in electricity from your main house. You might consider building a separate building to cook and wash your guests so they feel more at home.

There are many options for camping buses and pods, but you have the freedom to choose. You have the option to choose in terms of size and purpose. Do not be afraid to consult your contractor if you are unsure. You want to choose the best option for yourself. Good luck!
