Log cabin homes

Compared to regular homes, log cabins do not exhibit that many differences, other than slightly increased fire hazard due to the nature of timber. This hazard is mitigated with special anti-flammable dye.

The quality of dye used determines how often you will need to repaint the log house. It?s recommended to refresh the outdoor dye every 2-3 years.

While we do not provide insulation, we do prepare double-layer walls, floors and roofs that are ready for insulation during construction.

There are no limits on how long log cabin homes can last. With proper maintenance, they will last more than decades.

We always recommend laying a full foundation. Our clients usually build log houses on concrete piles.

While wood has good insulation properties, the full energy efficiency also depends on the insulation material and its thickness.

Compared to regular houses, log homes do carry increased fire risk due to the nature of the building material. However, flame-retardant dyes are readily available to mitigate this risk.
